About us
We are the reserve duty soldiers of the 17th Battalion of Bislach (The School for Infantry Platoons and Special Operations Commanders) who fight shoulder-to-shoulder with the conscriptive soldiers currently training to be the next generation of IDF squad commanders!
Our Auxiliary company (מסייעת 17) is made up of mortar men, sniper squads, heavy machine gunners, and more. Those serving with us come from all over the country, representing the nation of Israel at its best and in all its glory!
Where have we fought since 7.10.23?
As an integral part of battalion 17 that serves with the conscriptive forces, we were deployed into combat since the very first day of the war. Initially sent as part of the IDF's forces to secure Zikim, we have since been called up to serve in an additional 6 rounds of combat operations. We have fought along the length and breadth of the entire Gaza Strip, operating in Gaza City, Shuja'iyya, Jabalya, Al Bureij, Khan Younis, Rafah and more. Most of us have done over 300 days of combat and the next round is already upon us.
During operations, we have faced innumerable challenges and tasks - both as part of battalion 17 and as part of the Bislah brigade - contributing to the elimination of the head of Hamas in Gaza; Yehia Sinwar.
The purpose of our association and this website
Due to being a reserve unit that is linked to actively conscripted combat soldiers, we often find ourselves struggling to obtain necessary equipment and gear for our Auxiliary company before being deployed.
As such, we soldiers of Auxiliary company 17 require donations in order to improve our fighting capabilities when in the field. Therefore, we chose to establish a platform that allows us to receive donations in a legal and orderly manner, so that we may adequately supply our company ahead of any future deployments.
How can your contribution help those of us in the Auxiliary company?
In terms of welfare
Your donations allow us to take care of those among us who have a little more difficulty in terms of livelihood, to help the many students serving in the company, to help those whose long period of service has caused them to face difficulties of various kinds, and to help support the families of the fallen and the wounded from our company.
In terms of combat operations
Receiving donations & equipment enables us to be sharper, better fighters within the field via better technology, gear, and weaponry. The battlefield we know has changed beyond recognition and we find ourselves changing and evolving along with it. One such example of this is the issue of drones, which have been significantly utilised by us throughout the war, and which are characterized by high wear-and-tear - thus requiring a lot of resources to maintain them or replace them.
